bobabits

Went to Bobabits (Ruko Crown Golf 82, Jakarta, Indonesia 11150) last saturday. Wanted to know what's all the hype people keep talking about. But turns out my expectations were too high, everything is wrong... Went there with my sis and had a very high expectation since a lot of people are talking about it. I know I'm kinda late, but I don't have the time to. Plus, PIK is really far from my house, so why should I bother to go that far just to grab a bubble tea? I usually go to PIK just to hangout with my friends, that's all, and bobabits wasn't exactly our first choice.

Was surprised when the place was so crowded. My sister and my expectation which are already high became higher! We picked a comfortable seat (the place is really small and cramped, really not a comfortable place to hang at all) and ordered some snacks and drinks.

 cam whore first!
nice decor lah I can say, give some credit in their cute-interior-focused-cafe.
they even have auntie betsie's products there, which I have always love! www.auntiebetsie.blogspot.com
but when it comes to their drink. it was absolutely the worst bubble tea I ever tasted. I have always love foods or drinks, any kind of it, not very picky, I always finish what I order, but I always grade my foods. I could still taste the powder residue (i guess) they mixed for the milk tea and my drink (strawberry milk tea) doesn't taste good at all. please don't get me started with the bubble. They call their bubbles "big boba" (i think) but it weren't big at all! the bubbles were so small compared to quickly, cha time or even hop hop. it were so small, its so hard to chew and I kept swallowing it. --"

okay now going on with the food. I just have to say this, but they are trying to hard to make it look like shilin. you know the taiwanese snack.
my sister trying to look like the worker from shilin LOL
dori popcorn. I've got to admit it is quite nice. If you happen to come here, please do try it. something worth trying.
now come another disappointment. ordered fried sweet potato, but I didn't taste any of the sweetness. the taste is too bland. definitely not like the one I love in shilin.
If u can see here there are like foamy kind of textures below, which taste really bad.

Plus the price is too expensive. We spent about Rp. 100,000 just for two drinks and two snacks. I seriously would spend a little bit more to just buy cha time.

My review? I think bobabits should improve their quality in their bubble teas. Probably mix the drink properly and not shaking it too hard so that there will no foamy drinks and no powder residues. and please try to make better bubbles or find better suppliers. Rating? 3/10

I think I should seriously stop putting high expectations on things, or I could probably rate higher. hmm?

What do you guys think? Do you like bobabits like everyone else does? leave some comments why you like it or why not okay?

love,
karinzhou

New Year 2012!

Happy New Year guys! Sorry for the late post guys. I have a valid reason for this. I started uni already and I'm lazy. Hahaha. This new year is really fun. I spend the new year's eve with my boyfriend and my family. 2011 been a really rough year but ended up with a real sweet and fun way. I think all the hard work I've been through is worth it all. :) On the new year I went to Living World, Serpong to try out Old Town White Coffee for lunch. It's quite nice but of course not as nice as kopitiams in Malaysia. Anyway, compared to the Kopitiam in Pesanggrahan, Old Town White Coffee successfully make a quite genuine food of kopitiams in Malaysia. Here are some of the photos and foods of the day :)  very shiny weather and good environment in Serpong area makes it feel so comfy to eat there. Honey Lemon Juice Definitely must try the Teh Tarik and Honey Lemon Juice. So refreshing! :)  Prawn Mee Hon Mee  Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun - Very clear soup....

I'm so embarrassed every time my foreign friends ask me whether I've been there or not. Now I can proudly say, I'VE BEEN THERE! HAHA. Anyway without further ado, here's the Bali post I've been talking about for months! Camwhoring with bro and sis at the plane! arrived at BALIIII  our hotel! we stayed at Grand Mirage Bali at nusa dua (if I'm not mistaken) searched for food around the hotel. all of the foods are not delicious at all and very expensive! n...
